Neterra will launch a new “white label” DTH platform called “W1”

The project will be distributed by operators in region

Neterra will provide TV services in partnership with Telenor, as announced last week. The platform for satellite TV services "W1" enables operators to offer DTH services to end-users. Telenor and Neterra "W1" project will offer more than 60 TV channels and soon will expand the list with HD channels. The services will be distributed on THOR 6 satellite, located at 1˚ West, one of the fastest-growing orbital positions in Europe.

"White-label" (WL) is a model that enables a WL DTH service, provided and supported by one company to be distributed by other TV services operators under their own brand. Neterra expects the first operators that will utilize the new DTH platform to launch within the next few months.

"Neterra has more than 17 years of expertise in providing and supporting satellite services in Bulgaria," said Neven Dilkov, Managing Director at Neterra. "There is an obvious gap in the pay-TV market and we aim to fulfill this by offering a bouquet of premium-quality channels and a superior TV experience on multiple platforms."

Neterra has contracted two transponders on TSBc's THOR 6 satellite, located at 1˚West, one of the fastest-growing orbital positions for Central and Eastern Europe. The capacity will be utilized for video distribution in Bulgaria, where Neterra plans to offer a premium pay-TV platform, delivering a high-quality and highly reliable service using the latest available technology.

Cato Halsaa, Vice President and CEO of TSBc, commented: "1˚West is now a well-recognized broadcast position in CEE and reaches more than 17 million households across Europe. We are seeing a more buoyant take-up of pay-TV services within this region and we welcome and look forward to working with Neterra in developing its DTH proposition for the Bulgarian market."
