EANTC AG (European Advanced Networking Test Center), the leading independent test lab, and ancotel, continental Europe's largest tele-house, today announced the results of the pilot phase of an extensive Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect test program for service providers. Five carriers, besides Neterra, participated in this effort icluding Level 3 and Tinet. It was the first of its kind worldwide to validate and showcase end-to-end functionality and high availability of Carrier Ethernet services across multiple carriers.
„Neterra's participation in the global international test proves we own and operate a network, able to offer Carrier Class Ethernet services" said Neven Dilkov, Managing Director at Neterra. "So we are prepared for the future even before the introduction of the new technology as we believe this is exactly the service that many of our customers seek," added Mr. Dilkov.
Conducted in a week-long session in late January, the pilot test phase saw EANTC and Ancotel join up with service providers looking to evaluate their Carrier Ethernet services interconnections in a public, independent, multi-party effort.
Carsten Rossenhövel, Managing Director at EANTC, said: "The results of this first detailed test were very promising, as we managed not only to validate functionality and resilience but also provided the service providers involved with a platform to truly resolve issues and move the process along. With the next stages of our Global Interconnect test program in 2010, we are going to raise the bar tests that we conduct over the course of this year will prove equally beneficial for the industry."
Further information describing the successive testing procedures in detail and the results will be available on EANTC's website at www.eantc.com
