The national final of FameLab 2020 will take place from 8 pm to 10 pm. It is a competition between young scientists for the best public presentation of science, which is held in many countries around the world. Participants must present live in an attractive and understandable way scientific facts of their choice in no more than 3 minutes. Thus, in 2 hours the viewers receive synthesized knowledge from different fields of science.
These scientific facts are told briefly, clearly, and fascinatingly by young and motivated people. Attendees feel the emotion of the competition, choose their favorites and tremble who will win. At the national level, each country organizes a competition between dozens of candidates for fame and sends a representative for the FameLab final in the United Kingdom.
FameLab was founded in 2005 by the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK and in 16 years has grown rapidly into the largest international science communication competition. The British Council is the partner through whose network the competition is held in countries around the world. So far, more than 7,000 young scientists have taken part in it. Bulgaria joined in 2007.
The physical edition of the Sofia Science Festival for 2020 will be held from September 26-29, 2020 in Sofia Tech Park.
