Neterra completed its first project on the European Commission's WiFi4EU initiative in the Municipality of Topolovgrad. The independent Bulgarian telecom has delivered, installed the equipment and activated the network of points of access to free Wi-Fi for over 7,000 residents of the municipality.
The successful implementation includes coverage of 6 areas (52,000 square meters in total). 10 external access points are provided on key places for public life in the city, such as the stadium, 2 schools, the central city, and the bus station.
Through the WiFi4EU initiative, the European Commission is funding the creation of networks via which EU citizens and visitors can access free, high-quality wireless Internet in public places. The funds are given to the municipalities, and they choose the companies that implement the projects.
Last month Neterra also signed a contract under the WiFi4EU initiative with Razgrad Municipality, where the company will provide coverage of a total area of 83,000 square meters for over 30,000 residents.
