NetIX, the global Internet exchange platform within the Neterra Group, has enhanced its European network and boosted its capacity. The company introduced a new route between Marseille and Milan with a capacity of 100 Gbps. The network capacity between Madrid and Frankfurt has doubled to 200 Gbps.

By the end of the first quarter of 2024, NetIX plans to introduce a new 100-gigabit connection between Madrid and Marseille.

These improvements enable NetIX and Neterra customers to transport larger volumes of traffic across Europe, leveraging a more secure and faster network to achieve their ambitious business objectives.

The innovations empower NetIX to provide additional redundancy resources for other routes, as well as connectivity services of exceptional quality.

Dean Belev, Neterra's Senior Product Manager for Connectivity and NetIX, stated, “We take great pride in growing and strengthening our network, especially when we know how much our members will benefit from the upgrades.” He continued, “Increasing capacity on popular routes makes logical sense, but adding new routes to offer resiliency is where we shine. This move will ensure our network can continue providing connectivity between key cities needed for economic growth.”

Marseille is a prominent telecommunications hub, linking Europe to Africa, the Middle East, and Asia via ten submarine cables. Two of these cables will be activated later this year, and two more are anticipated to begin operations in 2025. NetIX and Neterra connect to the Middle East and Asia via Marseille.

Northern Italy has long been a transportation hub for air and land traffic. In line with the world's overall digitization, the region is evolving into a crucial point for internet traffic exchange.

Germany, Europe's largest and most powerful economy, boasts a well-developed telecommunications network. It has the world's densest optical network.

Frankfurt is the largest financial center in Western Europe. Every global company has a link to it, and the demand for high-quality and redundant connectivity services to and from Frankfurt is constantly increasing.

In recent years, Madrid has made significant investments in modern telecommunications solutions. As a result, it is now developing into an international digital hub that is successfully addressing the growing need for connectivity in Southern Europe.
