Neterra Presented the Newly Built Second Floor of Sofia Data Center

Yesterday the data centre was presented to clients and partners at an opening cocktail on the same second floor

The presentation started with a few words by the Managing Director, Neven Dilkov: "You have only two chances to see this data center empty - today and after 120 years when we plan to upgrade it." Only a year and a half after the first floor was put into operation, it is full and the data center is expanded with a whole floor, forming a total area of 700 sq m. International operators from over 15 countries, from Georgia to USA, are present here. There are three meet-me rooms and a meet-me zone where all network operators in Bulgaria are interconnected with some of the largest telecoms in Europe.

Sofia Data Center (SDC) is a carrier-neutral facility, designed for the data centers from the planning stage and constructed towards the highest standards for safety and security. All systems in the facility are fully redundant. SDC is the only one with a backup data centre in Ruse, over 300 km away. SDC works with Free Cooling Air Conditioning System which reduces the energy consumption by 30% to 50%.

In SDC Neterra provides a broad range of services for telecom operators, hosting providers and system integrators. Here clients could colocate their equipment - from just a rack to individual cages. Dedicated servers are a possible option, along with managed services for installing and configuring clients' equipment by Neterra's specialists. Over the past year, the company has developed its own cloud platform, Cloudware.

SDC has already received international recognition - the best data centre among all that British Telecom works with, nominations for New Data Center and European Award for Colocation at European Data Center Awards 2011 and 2012. In 2011 SDC received the Special Award of the Jury at ICT Summit Eurasia Awards in Istanbul.
