The Challenges

Financial institutions are often a target of DDoS attacks. The aim of the strikes is to affect and block the connection to the Internet, as well as to overload the internal resources of the financial institution's network. Successful breakthroughs would lead to Internet connection loss, deterioration and shutdown of the bank's internal systems and services. 

  • For a period of 3 hours, the bank’s servers were attacked

  • With more than 15 DDoS attacks, differing in complexity, scope, and type.

The Solution

The bank decided to test the reliability of the DDoS protection provided by Neterra. For this purpose, Neterra's client servers were raided by a world-renowned penetration testing corporation hired by the bank. 

For a period of 3 hours the bank's servers were attacked with more than 15 DDoS attacks, differing in complexity, scope, and type, including the 3 main types - Volume Based Attacks, Protocol Attacks and Application Layer Attacks. 

The result

Neterra stopped all the attacks successfully, after which both the tester and the client expressed their satisfaction with the high level of DDoS protection, offered by the Bulgarian telecom. 

The bank decided to trust Neterra again by extending their contract for protection against DDoS attacks.
