CONNECTING EUROPE FACILITY

The European Commission launched the first calls for proposals under the digital part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF Digital) programme. The calls are the following:

  • Backbone connectivity for Digital Global Gateways - Works.
  • Backbone connectivity for Digital Global Gateways - Studies.
  • Preparation of works for Operational digital platforms.
  • Integration of 5G with edge computing and federated cloud facilities.
  • 5G coverage along transport corridors - Studies.
  • 5G Strategic Deployment Agenda coordination.
  • 5G coverage along transport corridors - Works.
  • 5G Smart Communities - Works.
  • Interconnection of backbone networks for cloud federations - Works.
  • Interconnection of backbone networks for cloud federations with other cloud, HPC and edge infrastructures - Studies.
  • Equipping backbone networks with high-performance and secure DNS resolution infrastructures - Works.

With a planned budget of €258 million, the calls aim to improve digital connectivity infrastructures, in particular Gigabit and 5G networks, across the Union, and contribute to Europe's digital transformation.

CYBERSECURITY

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) issues a report of the interoperability potential of cybersecurity risk management frameworks and methodologies to improve decision-making.
